I was at the track when Ed Bergenholtz pulled up in his 2nd gen CR-X with the first bar on a FWD..everyone laughed...he ran over 1 second faster on the exact same setup, with a half assed job on the....

So the rear wheels are only there so that if the bars were to snap the car takes no damage?? π π

Physics is kicking

see theres wheelie bars for rear wheel drive drag cars, then theres traction bars for front wheel drive cars.
- LLostInTranslation_IRL
It doesn't look like the primary purpose is to stop the weight shift. It is to put more weight on the front wheels. For example, instead of like a 60:40, it would be like an 80:20 front rear weight d...

Rear wheels: Am I a joke to you?

Volkswagen Gol, I love that car. Best engine ever.

Ron Bergenholtz and Chris Rado would like a wordβ¦

Having an adjustable rear wing also helps. You can set it to lift the rear of the car which in turn forces the front downwards.

Bruh that note a wheelie barπ

That's a VW Gol (Brazilian model) native only to South America. I have a white 1 π π

A long time ago (2002 ish) the record setting FWD car (I think it was a Civic hatch, AEM maybe?) had wheelie bars. They said basically the same thing, though that car still had the rear tires on the....

"Engine so heavy it lifted that back wheels" Are you on the spectrum? holy shit.....

If you want to trust those 8" wheels at speed, go for it!

WORLDS - STRONGEST - 'wheelie bar'.
- AAbstractlyCorrect_II
Probably testing for something. Taking the rear suspension out of the equation for a pass

Bet those read tyres get some wicked mileage

This drag racing takes place in Brazil; look into our drag racing culture, and you'll see a lot of this.
- PPonderingWithoutPurpose
You're close to understanding what's going on but it's not literally all the way on the front wheels it just helps reduce weight shifting to the rear through suspension compression
- RRuminatingRuminant
Puts rubber bristles on the tire so it touches the track. It's technically legal, the best kind of legal.
- FFeatureWallWithFeelings
This car always skips leg day.
- MMapAndCompassOnly
id protest the shit outta that. it won't last long.
- WWorldTravelerOnBudget
Looks like some no limit drag racing 2.0 type shit
- FFlightlessByChoice
Thatβs someone making the rule book fatter next year/event. Wheel base and balance is wildly modified, βif you ainβt cheating, you ainβt racingβ
- VVinylFloorPhilosophy
Itβs not a wheelie bar, it is the rear axle with a dummy set of wheels where the old rear axle used to be.
- VVortexOfVibes
Makes sense honestly changing the weight displacement to more front like more than 60-65% front weight bias the guy will have all the traction he could need to prevent any wheel hopping or slipping!!...
