Id argue Templar is actually decent since you can cleanse most debuffs, not to mention smite is a wide range AOE attack which warriors desperately need.

I actually managed to get the Achievement in Costume Quest 2 where you keep the candy corn in your party for the whole game. It wasn't easy but I did it, dammit!

DA origins templar is just a normal warrior against non-mages, but mages are by far the worst enemies in the game and they can one-shot them. Hardly the worst option. OTOH shapeshifters are indeed us...
